Dear Waggoner “Wags” Era WSC Wrestling Alumnus,
It has been too long since you have trained with your team! It is time…for you to come back home to Western State College and join your fellow teammates to reminisce about the good ole days of Western State College Wrestling with your longtime Coach, “Wags”. Because of you, the Western State Wrestling tradition lives on and is one of the most successful wrestling programs with the richest tradition in the Nation. We want to celebrate your Era, the “Wags” Era and your successes. It has been over thirteen years for some of you and almost 25 years for those that are definitely tougher now...and have been a part of the following achievements:
-5 "Top 10" National Team Tournament Finishes (90,91,92,96,97)
-1991 and 1997 RMAC Champions
-1995 and 1997 Colorado Collegiate Champions
-Fourth in 1997 NWCA National Duals (Highest finish ever)
-29 individual All-Americans including two individual national champions
-5 NWCA All-Academic wrestlers
-1997 "Top 10" Team G.P.A. in NCAA II Wrestling
-1995 and 1997 Coach “Wags” was the Colorado Collegiate Coach of the Year
In some way, you have been a part of WSC Wrestling “Wags” Era success, either as a wrestler or an assistant coach. We want to bring the wrestling family all back together at one time. Let’s celebrate the many, many good times that have occurred over the years, share a great experience and reunite with old wrestling buddies. Come reminisce, tell some stories and have a great time with us.
The WSC Wrestling “Wags” reunion will be the weekend of Oct. 8-10, 2010. We have a full exciting weekend scheduled for you. On this site you'll find a tentative schedule of events and a list of reunion members that we have lost contact with. Please call and/or write to help us update our reunion invitee list, we don’t want to leave anyone out. Come enjoy what is sure to be a great reunion. Don’t miss out, start planning now! More information will be coming as the reunion draws closer. Please let us know if we can help in any way or if you have any questions.
Your training as a WSC wrestler has never stopped...maybe put on hold for 13 or 25 years, but no better time to strap on the crimson and slate pride and come home to Mountaineer Nation. We are looking forward to seeing you this fall. Please come in shape as we will only have a very short time to get you ready to “REPRESENT!”
Miles Van Hee, Head Wrestling Coach
