LEADVILLE, Colo. – Duncan Callahan, a 2005 Western State graduate, won the Leadville Trail 100-Mile Run yesterday by more than 40 minutes with a time of 17 hours, 43 minutes and 24.8 seconds. It’s his second Leadville 100 title after winning the race two years ago.
Callahan has also won the 2009 Moab 100, the Grand Teton 50-Miler, the 2009 Spring Desert Ultra 25-Miler and the 2007 Spring Desert Ultra 50-Miler. He finished as runner-up at the 2009 Rocky Racoon 50-Miler, third at the 2009 Leadville 100 and third at the 2008 San Juan Solstice 50-Miler. He was also featured in the “Trail Runner” Dec. 2008 issue in the “Making Tracks” section.
Callahan was a Nordic skier for the Mountaineers from 2002-05.
