GUNNISON, Colo. – Supporters and fans who wish to support one of the most successful Division II programs are invited to become members of the Mountaineer Athletic Association during the association’s annual membership drive this summer. MAA members receive exclusive benefits while helping support the scholarship needs of Mountaineer student-athletes.
“The MAA has helped us bring countless student-athletes onto the Western State campus to earn a degree while playing intercollegiate varsity sports,” said Western State Athletic Director Dr. Greg Waggoner. “These MAA members make a remarkable difference for our programs and their support is greatly appreciated.”
MAA members receive benefits based on their level of giving, which can include all-sport passes, Mountaineer gear, preferred parking and seating as well as invitations to social functions featuring Western State student-athletes and coaches. These individuals and businesses brought in more than a quarter-million dollars for the Mountaineers last season, part of more than $1 million in private fundraising last season.

Western State athletics has the fourth-highest average in the Learfield Sports Directors Cup and is one of seven Division II programs to finish in the top 50 all 15 years. The Mountaineers have won 14 national championships and 82 conference championships.
