GUNNISON, Colo. – More than 50 volleyball athletes from sixth graders through high school sophomores spent two days on the Western State campus last weekend learning and developing skills during the 2010 Western State volleyball basic skills camp. It’s the first round of skills camps for the Mountaineer volleyball team before the team camps at the end of the month.
A combination of commuter and overnight athletes received instruction from the Western State coaching staff as well as several returning student-athletes. Campers spent time on technique for setting, serving, passing and blocking in breakout groups based on grade.
The Mountaineer skill camps wrap up tomorrow with the elite skills camp before the team camp July 25-28.
