Western State graduate Shane Carwin (on top) dominated in the first round, but fell victim to an arm triangle chock 2-minutes and 19-seconds into the second round and was forced to tap out to Brock Lesnar in the UFC Heavyweight Unification bout on Saturday at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. The loss was the first of Carwin’s mixed martial arts career, moving hisrecord to 12-1. “I am going to have to claw my way back to the top but I wouldn’t want it any other way,” Carwin posted on his website the day after the event. “I know I belong with the very best, all I need to do is prove it again."
