Unless you’ve been living under a rock you probably know that this Saturday’s UFC 116 event will be highlighted by Brock Lesnar vs. Shane Carwin for the UFC heavyweight championship belt. The highly anticipated fight should be epic as two of the largest and most powerful heavyweights in recent history will collide in the octagon. While predictions vary depending on who you ask, UFC 2010 has provided its own answer as a series of simulations run by Seattle Xbox 360 Examiner gives the edge to… Shane Carwin.
While the actual number is not listed, it is clear that multiple simulations were used to bring forth a consistent winner with Carwin earning a 60% win rate. Reminding us all what kind of strength these two fighters have, every single simulation ended by knockout. On average the fights lasted nearly three rounds which is surprising given that Carwin has never even taken a full round to finish an opponent yet, but of course Brock does have the skills to be the first.
As we saw with Fedor/Werdum, anything can happen in MMA even to the favorites, so tune in Saturday night to see this colossal showdown. Unofficially UFC 2010 is currently 0-2 for predictions after missing on both UFC 114 and 115 main event outcomes.
