Both Mountaineer Teams Earn All-Academic

NEW ORLEANS - For the fifth straight season both Western State men's and women's cross country teams picked up United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic honors, announced by the organization this morning. The Mountaineer men posted the best team cumulative grade point average in the RMAC among six teams who qualified.
The Western State women were fourth among the seven RMAC women's teams who qualified based on team GPA. Across the nation, 101 women's teams met the All-Academic standard.
The Mountaineer men ranked No. 11 nationally in team GPA rankings with a team cumulative mark of 3.37 of the 62 Division II teams who earned All-Academic honors.
To qualify, teams must record a team score at the NCAA regional meets and maintain a team GPA of 3.00.
