COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Amber Murray earned her second RMAC West Division Player of the Week award after averaging 28.5 points and seven rebounds to lead Western State to an undefeated record last week. It’s the fourth time this season the weekly award has gone to the Mountaineers, and the first since Murray picked up the honor Jan. 11.

Murray opened the week with 25 points off eight-of-17 shooting against Mesa State during a 64-47 victory in Brownson Arena Jan. 26. She went six-of-seven from the free-throw line, grabbed eight rebounds and recorded three assists.

Murray followed with a season-high 32-point performance against Western New Mexico Jan. 30 and matched her career-best with five three-pointers in an 89-64 victory. Her scoring output was the most in the RMAC over the week and is tied for the best performance in the conference this season.

Murray is second in the conference in scoring with 17.6 points per game, behind the RMAC East Division Player of the Week Rachel Petri, who is averaging 19.5 points per game for Chadron State.

Murray and the rest of the Mountaineers remain at home this weekend to host rival Adams State Friday night, followed by No. 8 Fort Lewis Saturday night. Both games start at 6 p.m. in Paul Wright Gym.
