Aish, Dryer to Speak at Miami Marathon Expo

GUNNISON, Colo. – Elva Dryer and Michael Aish, who combined for four national cross country individual championships for Western State College, will be part of the featured speakers during the ING Miami Marathon Fitness and Health Expo Jan. 29-30. The pair will discuss marathon training along with Matt Downin of Strands.com on both days of the expo.
Dryer was an Olympic athlete in the 5,000-meter run for the United States in Sydney and the 10,000-meter run in Athens and was the top American won at the 2007 New York City Marathon. She’s competed in the 2008 and 2009 Boston Marathons and the 2006 Chicago Marathon. Dryer won back-to-back national cross country titles in 1993 and 1994 and won five national track titles between the 3,000-meter run and 1,500-meter run.
Aish competed for New Zealand at the 2000 and 2004 Olympic games after winning national cross country titles for the Mountaineers in 1999 and 2001. He won 10 national track and field championships and still holds the program outdoor 5,000-meter and 10-meter records and the indoor mile, 3,000-meter and 5,000-meter records. He ran a personal-best 2:13.42 marathon in Fukuoka, Japan, in 2006.
