Flynn to Compete at European XC Champs

GUNNISON, Colo. – Western State College freshman runner David Flynn will compete for Ireland in the SPAR European Cross Country Championships Dec. 13 in Dublin, Ireland. It will be the first European Athletics Championship to be held in Ireland and Flynn's first appearance on the under-23 national team.
Flynn earned All-America honors and was the fifth freshmen overall with a time of 32 minutes, 29.2 seconds at the Division II championships Nov. 21. The Mountaineers finished second at the championships for the third consecutive season.
Flynn, a native of Dublin, was a member of the Clonliffe Harriers Athletic Club and part of multiple junior cross country national teams for Ireland. He was the runner-up at the National Intermediate Cross Country Championships in February and was the top Irishman at the Celtic Nationals Cross Country meet in January.
