rGUNNISON, Colo. – Western State College volleyball will hold open tryouts for interested high school graduates, junior college graduates and released transfers Feb. 20 from 2-4 p.m. in Paul Wright Gym. The focus will be on middle and outside hitters, although there is a small possibility that the Mountaineers could pick up a defensive specialist, libero or setter.
Interested student-athletes must have a completed physical dated after Aug. 20, a signed parental release form and a copy of a current health insurance card. Student-athletes are also asked to e-mail Assistant Coach
Melissa Bravo with name, high school, junior college or club team, phone number, e-mail address and the athlete’s primary and secondary position.
Junior college athletes will also need to bring a copy of their unofficial academic transcript.
All student-athletes will also be able to take part in a campus tour after the tryout at 4:15 p.m.
