Volleyball Attendance Rises 18 Percent

GUNNISON, Colo. – Western State College volleyball experienced an 18-percent increase in the attendance average for the 2009 season that concluded last Saturday. The Mountaineers were one of six RMAC schools to average more than 250 fans per match, and finished with 282 fans during the nine-match home season
A season-high 422 fans attended for the Adams State match Oct. 30, the most for a Western State match since the 2007 season-opener. Attendance surpassed 300 fans in three other matches, including 352 during a night when the Mountaineers raised nearly $1,600 for Gunnison’s “Tough Enough to Wear Pink” campaign.
More than 2,500 fans experienced a Mountaineer match this season, which featured three five-set matches.
