Amber Murray reached 30 points for the third time this season to lead all scorers as Western State (8-13, 6-7 RMAC) fell in a 77-70 decision to sixth-ranked Fort Lewis (22-2, 12-1 RMAC) tonight in Paul Wright Gym. Katie Hall also pulled down 10 rebounds for the seventh time this season.

Blog: Getting Ready for the Top Two
As we approach the end of the first round of division play, we are up against the two top teams in conference Adams and Fort Lewis. Both of the team are ranked regionally and Fort Lewis is ranked sixth nationally. Last year we handed the Skyhawks, No. 2 at the time, their first and only loss in conference last year in a 69-61 victory on our home court.

It’s a meeting of the top offensive rebounding teams in the conference when Western State women’s basketball (8-11, 6-5 RMAC) hosts Adams State (15-3, 9-2 RMAC) tonight in Paul Wright Gym. Western State is leading the conference with 15.6 offensive rebounds per game, ahead of second-place Adams State’s 14.2 per game.

Donate This Weekend for Fire Relief Effort
Fans and supporters wishing to donate for relief efforts in support of the students displaced from last Saturday’s house fire will be able to make cash donations during the Western State College basketball games this Friday and Saturday when the Mountaineers take on Adams State and Fort Lewis.

Murray Earns Second Weekly RMAC Honor
Amber Murray earned her second RMAC West Division Player of the Week award after averaging 28.5 points and seven rebounds to lead Western State to an undefeated record last week. It’s the fourth time this season the weekly award has gone to the Mountaineers, and the first since Murray picked up the honor Jan. 11.
