Western State men’s and women’s basketball will face five Division I opponents throughout the western United States in the 2010 exhibition schedule released today by head coaches Latricia Trammell and Mike Moskowitz. Three games will occur in the Colorado Front Range region.

A rafting trip down the Taylor River and a rock-climbing expedition sandwiched a night of camping as the Western State women’s basketball team spent last Thursday and Friday on a team bonding trip. The adventure was centered out of the Gunnison Mountain Park northeast of Almont.

She will be involved in monthly meetings to brainstorm and develop ideas and information to enhance the national convention programming.

Former student-athletes who started a run of five straight NAIA postseason appearances will be returning to the Western State campus for the 25-year reunion of their achievements during Homecoming 2010. The 1985-86 team posted a 12-4 RMAC record and advanced to the championship game of the NAIA District VII Playoffs.

Western State College Head Women’s Basketball Coach Latricia Trammell is excited to announce the hiring of Julian Assibey as an assistant coach with the Mountaineer program. Assibey (pronounced ah-SEE-ah-bay) will move in for Chris Trammell, who resigned last month to take a position in Oklahoma.
